Coverage

This is the maximum dollar amount your insurance will pay for eligible expenses during the coverage period. Visitors to Canada and Super Visa Insurance policies typically require a minimum coverage amount of $100,000, but higher options (e.g., $150,000 or $300,000) may be available.
Travel insurance can be purchased with or without a deductible. Depending on the deductible you choose, you may reduce the premium for the Emergency Medical Care coverage from 7.5% up to 35%. However, in the event of a claim, you will be responsible for paying the deductible amount out of your pocket before the insurer makes a payment. The chosen deductible will apply per trip and per insured, on eligible expenses under the Emergency Medical Care coverage, e.g., hospitalization expenses, medical and paramedical expenses, transportation expenses (including ambulance or repatriation expenses) and subsistence allowance.
For example, if you have chosen a deductible of $500 for a medical claim of $1,500, the eligible expenses payable by the insurer will be $1,000. If you have not chosen a deductible (deductible = $0), the eligible expenses will be $1,500.
